He graduated in 1970 from TED Ankara College and in 1975 from METU Civil Engineering Department. In 1978, he completed his master's degree in Civil Engineering at METU. Between 1975 and 1979, after working as a manager in various construction companies, he founded Odak Group of Companies in Izmir in 1979. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
